Re: removing emblems

i just did this on a 92 accord. taking off the emblem is easy, just get some fishing line and "saw" it back and forth to slowly cut the adhesive and the emblem will fall off. now you will be left with a ton of adhesive on the paint thats really hard to get off. i used a microfiber towel and alot of googone and scrubbed a ton to gradually peel off layers of foam adhesive. once its all cleaned off, use a good paint cleanup like meguiars scratchx or show car glaze/polish, then wax after that. usually this only works for the "civic" and other trim emblems but not the big H emblem since its held on with pegs and you will have holes in the car body if you remove it.

Re: removing emblems

You may want to first try sitting the car in the sun for a few hours and then using a heat gun or hairdryer. If you can get the adhesive warm enought you may get lucky and be able to peel it off. You may need a plastic razor blade to help you get under it. If you don't have one of those you can take a flat head screw driver and with a towel on the end to try and get behind it enough to start the lifting/peeling. Be extremely careful if you go the screw driver route as you can scratch the paint with one wrong move.
I suggest you try first as you can avoid having to remove tons of adhesive. When removing adhesive you run the risk of ruining the finish.

Re: removing emblems

I've had extreme success removing emblem goo with WD40 and a rag. Just wash and wax afterward.
