I'm driving a 1991 Civic SI Hatchback. I've had it since new.
What a great little car! So-----Now I'm considering a 2009 Civic EX-L Coupe, or maybe a 2009 Accord EX- L Coupe.
I know they are two totally different cars. I tend to lean toward the Accord but I've had such a great experience with my Civic.
My great experience with the Civic & my billfold say "Buy the Civic". My now somewhat older body is saying "I think you may be really happy with the Accord".
I'm still enjoying a somewhat spirited ride, but don't have to break the sound barrier.
Your thoughts would be appreciated!
Can someone give me some idea of the top speed of these cars? I once got my 91 up to190 Km/Hr (114 MPH) on along down hill run. (Can't do it on the level though)
Your thoughts are most welcome!
Thank You!
Dave

Since you're driving a Si now, I'd go for another Si model.
You're really going to have to drive both cars you are considering because, as you know, selecting a car is a very personal decision.

Its hard to tell someone what to buy without knowing really what they like. I have a 2009 EX-L Coupe and love the leather interior. The EX-L, Si and Accord are all good options. I recommend to test drive them all one weekend and you will probably know right away what you want.

You're asking us to compare apples to oranges so this is really tough.
Both models have their pros and cons. The Accord has historically been more of a family car. The Civic Si, has always been a sports car. The thing to consider is do you want your new car to have more of a comfortable ride or are you still in to the sporty feel. Remember though, you can always make a car more sporty, it's tough to make it more confortable.
My choice would be the Si. I absolutely love mine and plan to keep it a very long time.

I had a 2005 Acura TL which is essentiall a Gussied up accord and it was one hell of a car. it was pretty spry and very comfortable it did however have a pretty "numb" feel on the road. I am now driving a 2009 Civic SI and it obliterates the TL in pretty much every way. It was also half the price. The first day I had the SI I took it on the highway at 3 am to discover it will in fact go 150MPH. There was alot more pedal too!
