I have a 2007 LX Civic and I had to charge my battery the other day. The manual suggested that I remove both cables before putting the battery on a charger. I was wondering if that means that I can not use a trickle charger plugged in through the Auxillary plug on the driver's side? I don't drive the car that often, since I am retired, and after 16 months I guess my battery was slowing discharging. Any comments or suggestion would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Trickle charger
Sixteen months is a long time to not drive something,,, if you have access to the car most of the time, the best thing to do is just drive it a little bit. This keeps things that are meant to move,,,,well, moving. If a battery charger is not fully automatic, meaning it will shut itself off when the battery is fully charged, it will finally ruin the battery. If your car is an 07`, and it has not hit the road in sixteen months, do you ever really drive it?
