Rep Power: 0 New Air Intake Is Awesome on 2007 civic si
I just installed the new K&N Typhoon the revised one that just came out last month. I originally purchased the k&n drop in and it made a little difference but not much as far as HP. I've been researching info on cold air intakes and shot ram air intakes and I was leaning toward AEM, but K&N revised the design of the short ram air intake so that the heat shield has an adapter for the fresh air hose that normally would connect to the stock air box. This short ram air intake by K&N lets the filter take in cooler fresh air, and we all know what that adds up to...HP. I tell you what a huge difference it makes, not only in sound but when you hit the throttle the first thing you hear is the engine just sucking in air, once you reach over 3,000 rpm its starts getting loud and then at I-VTEC it just kicks in hard and sounds incredible, no need for a new exhaust its loud enough after the air intake. It says it only adds 7.01 HP but I was looking at the dyno chart and the test was done at 84.64 degrees Fahrenheit so I'm guessing right now its 50 degrees colder which means more HP, because it feels like more than just 7 horse power. I'm loving it

yeah intakes are always fun even if on our regular civics its mostly for sound. but it can stay quiet for cruising which is nice

I installed the K&N 69 Series Typhoon Intake Systems in my 2008 Honda Civic Coupe LX. The sound is great. However, I noticed my car lost power at lower RPM and increase a little HP at higher RPM (3000+). Also, I am loosing gas mileage as well.
If you have a 2008 Civic, I'd strongly recommended using your stock airbox with K&N air filter.
I am thinking of putting the stock airbox back.
