Should I go with the XM radio in dash or seperate unit?

I'm getting ready to buy an Civic EX and wondering if I should get the XM radio or a hand held unit to plug in when I drive?

The XM will cost me $500 that would include installation from my dealer and I am willing to pay it...

any suggestions

i would say xm radio, NOT the hand-held unit. your interior will look a lot cleaner in my opinion. (.02)
