Re: how dark should my tint be

I have mine so that it looks dark but a cop can see into it so i dont get blasted if I get pulled over. I think the tint shop told me it was 35%. That is STILL illegal here in NY but I havn't been botherd by cops over it yet.

Re: how dark should my tint be

35% is pretty much a factory standard. If a rookie cop gets ahold of you technically your not allowed anything greather then 50% on the front windows some states none what so ever. I'd say 35% won't get u zapped but >20% will because lights reflect off 20% and will penetrate 35% soo your going to get away with it

Re: how dark should my tint be

I just got my windows tinted on my 07 si and its black like yours. I would recomend that you get %15. Its dark enough to keep out the sun, but cops can still see movement inside your cockpit

Re: how dark should my tint be

I always had 15% on my cars and I haven't had a problem. When I been pulled over for speeding I would just roll down All my windows and open the sunroof. The cops wouldn't know a thing

I know people that have gone with 35% but after a while they say "I should have gone with darker tints" Etc...

Get 20% then. it's dark enough but it's not Too Dark.

Re: how dark should my tint be

Anyone know the tint % on the rear windows of the sedan? I'd like to tint the front windows but not looking for tickets either. I'm thinking maybe just matching the rear windows would be good.

Re: how dark should my tint be

Made a bunch of calls today trying to decide between 20 and 35. Looks like 20 might be the most popular, but some guys are even doing 5. I'm not looking for attention from the cops or trouble with the insurance company so I think I'm going with 35% on the sides and 15% on the rear window.

Find out the legal limit there. But I'd go with 30-35% Lumar.

Call me jaded, but 5% is mandatory.

Re: how dark should my tint be

20% back only. I don't want tickets so I avoided having tints on the front.
