2006 Civic EX Coupe Audio suggestions, please

Hi All,

I bought an 06 Civic EX Coupe last week. Love the ride till now. Have couple of audio questions on that. Can any of the gurus answer, please?

Mine has premium sound without Navigation.

- The 8" sub rattles almost everytime. Any one know why and how to fix it?

- Somewhere I read the premium sound has 7 speakers. I can find only 5. 2 on door, 2 rear and the 8" sub. Is this because coupe has only 5 and Sedan has 7?

- I was thinking of replacing the front speakers with polk DB6500 component speakers. Does that going to make a noticable difference or the stock speakers are good enough?

- Does the adding of Infinity Basslink II sub going to make a substantial difference?

- What's the size of rear speakers? 5 1/4"?

- Is there any weblink which gives the spec on audio on civic? Like the power, ouputs, spec of the sub.....

Thanks,

Nanda.

2 tweaters are located at the windshield base in the right and left cornors of the dash.

Honda Door And Shelf Speakers Are Almost Always 6 And Halfs, The Polks Would Be A Good Addition, As Long As Youve Got Bass Coming From Somewhere Which You Do, So I Would Say Go For It.

the sub rattle is just from the center section of the rear window sill.. i took the little grill guard off they put under the sub in the trunk of mine and forced a couple peices of paper towel into a couple small openings to the underside of that section of the sill... expensive fix let me tell ya! i havent had a rattle since

Try to have some deadening material on your doors and trunk to reduce outside noise and eliminate vibrations from sub rattles.

I plan to install a OEM interface EQ, a JL 12"w1v2 and Focal Access 2-way component speakers. I plan to put some deadening material too.
