Okay, I'm new but not technically a "newbie." You can call me Sky and I've got a question. I'm already aware of the fact that the stereo skips the first second or so of some songs but now my car is stopping halfway through a song and either starting it over or going to the next one. Do I just need to clean the lens? I had a problem sort of like this with my old truck only it wasn't an Mp3 stereo but they had to replace the head unit. Oh, and on a side note, in case this is important. I just recently started using Lightscribe CD-R's for my Mp3 disks.

Rep Power: 0 hmmm there is either a problem with the way your are burning the cd's or with your stereo, cuz i have the same stereo in mine and i have had no problem whatsoever with playing mp3 files. my stereo plays all songs from start to finish with no skiping or anything.
1] what spftware are you using to burn cd's?
2] what are you burning them as? data?
3] have you had this problem from the begining?

Rep Power: 0 I've had the thing where it skips the first second or so from the beginning. And i've switched burning software. What i burn them as is either a Jukebox CD or, now, and Mp3 CD. The thing where it cuts in the middle is new.

Rep Power: 0 My first suggestion is to ditch the user freindly words like jukebox and mp3 cd. Get the files you want and simply burn them as a DATA cd. this may be your problem.
the stereo itself, and all mp3 capable stereos are designed to read files, just like your computer, and sometimes with burning them in the user frieldly way there is extra coding added and this can create a problem with the stereo reading the files. its worth a shot, and an easy fix if it is the solution
i hope this works for you

If it still doesn't work, I would recommend burning the same songs on other brands of CD-R, or burning ur cd at a lower speed. The head unit may not like certain makes of the CD-Rs.
I had the same issue before, but on different head unit. My solution was to use a different brand of CD-R.
