Just purchased another 2006 EX Sedan, AT.
This one has a better factory 'fit and finish' than the other one.
Some paint goofs, but overall pretty nice paint finish.
AC has a couple things that my other 06 did not have;
1. AC system leaves a significant puddle vs half the amount of water on the ground than the other 06 did. Is this something to be concerned about?
2. When under load, AC operating while driving, I hear a noise every 11 seconds that is consistent. The noise or clicking sound or whatever it is seems to be something that is 'cycling' the system? I did replicate the sound by turning the AC dash **** off and on and heard the same sound.
Any thoughts about these items would be appreciated.
Note: Currently I have 600 miles on the car. MPG; 34.3, 36.3, 29.6, 40.5, 37.8, and 39.8 at this point.
The other 06, after 6.3k miles, best MPG was 42.7.

The noise you hear is the A/C compressor cycling on and off.
My cycles very much as well and I find it annoying as it's rather loud.
I even brought mine back to dealer and they told me it's normal.
I think others have mentioned the cycling as well as being to frequent.

I found that when ever I had the windshiled defrost button selected (yellow light) and the fan turned off I found the A/C cycled. If I select any of the other settings floor/vent/combo (green lights), it does not seem to cycle. When I first noticed this I realized that they may be running the air through the compressor to "dehumidifiy" it to clear the windshield faster. I even recall the sales men talking about it briefly. Try it out and see if it makes a difference. It works for my car though. *shrug*

Rep Power: 0 Thank you Kero, and WLH for your inputs.
Kero, does your AC system while on, at speed, still make a cycling sound? or does it happen when you are at an idle?
My sound is not loud, but having had my other 2006 for 10 months and it did not make any noise, this immediately came to my attention.
Does your sound occur on a consistent time pattern? As mentioned, mine happens every 11 seconds and has not deviated from that time pattern.
At a stop or at an idle I hear no sound.
If I am in a stationery position I hear the AC engaging and disengaging, but that is not the sound that I am hearing at speed.
WLH, was it your experience while you were driving your car, or at a stop? My experience is that I have to be driving the car, as I call it 'at speed'; and then it makes the noise.
I will be taking it back to the dealer and have them check it and most likely will be told that this is normal :-)

For me, I don not believe it's the Fan making noise, but an AC person may find that it is.
Since my last posting I have put more miles on this car and the noise that I was talking about has lessened to some degree, but it's still there.

I have am pretty sure on my car it's the compressor as after it clicks off, the AC gets a little warm and when it clicks back on, AC gets colder.
Most people can never hear the fans turn on and off. They are in the very front of the car.
