Leather seats

Which models, if any, in 2006 come with leather seating?

Im a big fan of leather seats, especially in summer.

Are there any new Civics with leather, or is this an optional extra?

I know they have leather steering wheels, Im pretty sure they dont come with leather seating, I will check it out though.
You can always detail the car in leather if you wanted it

I posted the premium package in another thread and there is no leather seating option. I do not think the civic is targeted at the leather seat crowd.

I think you see leather seats when you get into the mid 20s.

Yes, most likely people who want leather seats would rather buy a BMW than a Civic.
Civics are great for people with kids and the last think you want if you have kids are nice leather seats for them to dirty up

I think leather seats are a bit over-rated. I have owned cars much more expensive than a civic before, and I wish I could get cloth seats. A friend of mine told me a story of a guy who bought an $80k Jaguar XJR and had them tear out the factory leather seats and put cloth seats in. Apparently his wife was a big animal rights supporter.

Anyways, leather takes a lot of upkeep, and even then over time the leather fades and cracks, even with really good care.

I like leather seats myself. It is too bad they do not have them as an option. As the prices of all cars go up, though, maybe they will add them. Maybe to the new sedan.

Leather seats are beautiful. All luxury cars have leather.
They are easy to clean, look good and are cool to sit on.

Re: Leather seats

Leather seated surfaces are more durable than cloth when it comes down to kids. It is easier to wipe up spilled drinks on leather. Also the new 2008 models have leather as an option now!!

Re: Leather seats

There is a leather seat option on the 2008 models, not 2006 or 2007.

Re: Leather seats

Got the car today. The leather is nice. Seems durable and it's not super soft. It's like Benz leather.

Re: Leather seats

The leather is nice in the new Civic. I almost purchased a EX-L but then saw the blue cloth in the Hybrid and got it instead.

Re: Leather seats

i saw an EX at the dealership where i got my car which had leather seats. they told me it was a special floor model, and for the leather wrapped seats, it was something that had to be specifically asked, then youd be waiting a while, and it would be expensive (like anything done by a dealer!). You may do better by checking out a few private upholsters, see what they get to wrap your existing seats, or even removing the cloth and restitching some leather. and did i read that right? you like leather in the summer? i dunno, im not a leather fan, especially in the summer!

Leather is no good. Your *** slides off as soon as you turn a corner. Cloth ftw

Re: Leather seats

yeah in the summer you lose skin off the back of your legs on leather seats, and theyre cold as hell in the winter..but whatever, to each his own.

Re: Leather seats

They are heated seats so no problem in the winter. I've had leather in all my cars except for the CR-V. Summertime, I think that really depends on whether you park outside all day or it's inside a garage, etc. It's very subjective. For me, I won't go with cloth seats if I have a choice to go leather. Cloth seats tend to stink over time. Soiling is also a big issue with cloth seats.
