Stalled Out On Hill

I'm out in the northeast and we're saddled with cold weather and snow. I went to visit my friend's new house (not knowing it was a 1/4 mile dirt driveway, badly plowed) and came to an impassible hill. From memory, here's what happened:

Wheels spun and lost grip, I gave it a little gas and turned the wheel to see if I could get a better grip on the road but started sliding backwards. I tried the brakes but they couldn't hold a grip and the ABS was doing the click-click-click thing. I'm still going backwards and Right when I slowly hit the snowbank at a whopping half mile an hour, I noticed my engine had stalled out during all that.

I'll admit, I drive a work van for a living and put in a lot of years on the road but NEVER had this happen to me.

Should be worried about my front diff or transmission in any sort of way? Any telltale signs of problems I should look out for?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Stalled Out On Hill

Yup, I just took her out for a 30 minute spin and she seems to be running like normal.

Re: Stalled Out On Hill

I probably wouldn't worry much about it then, unless it does something wrong while driving normally.
