Can someone please tell me how far you have to drive a 2012 Civic EX to get it fully warmed up? My wife has a very short drive getting to work so we will drive the car further to get it completely warmed up before she turns the car off at work. Thank you for your help.

Please tell me if there is some way I can tell the exact temperature as the car is warming up. I sure wish the car had a temperature gauge. Thanks for your help.

Buy a Scangauge or similar.
I also have a thermometer stuck in a dash vent.
how far you have to drive a 2012 Civic EX to get it fully warmed up? No, because it can vary greatly depending on ambient temperature and how the car is driven.

I have a 2008 Civic takes about 12-15 minutes to get to full operating temperature right now in Ontario,Canada with the Temperature in the early mornings around +13 to +15. that's using BG MOA oil additive in the synthetic oil and using Royal purple ice additive in the radiator. some would say its overkill on Honda. but im trying to hold on to this one as long as I can.

fahraenheit being the warmest to hottest the warm temps wont last much
longer around here when the extreme cold does hit at least I know im
using the greatest and latest best oil from (Pennzoil Pure Plus 5w20 tecknology)
and mixed in is BG"s MOA Oil Additive for added Protection.

The more I drive my new to me 2012 Honda Civic EX the more I like it and my wife feels the same way. We drove 50 miles to a party with some friends and we got 41.9 MPG. It was a bit hilly. I take cruise off in the hills. The engine has more than enough power for me. Actually it seems very peppy to me. The ride is great and the car is really fun to drive. I could not be more pleased with the car. Drive safe my friends.

When I first start the car (2012 Civic EX) I let it warm up for about 15 seconds.before putting it into drive and driving off. I always take off and stop slowly, coasting to a stop to save fuel. When I first start the car I turn the temperature **** up to high and turn on the fan. On the right side of the dash there is a blue or green temperature icon that comes on when the car is cold. As soon as the car warms up this icon goes off. The coldest it's been when I have started it has been 35 degrees. I'll let the car warm up longer when it gets colder this winter.
Many thanks to whoever put the spell check on this web site.

I may be wrong here, but I think running the heat before the car is warmed up will actually make it take a little longer to warm up.
My 2014 takes about 5 minutes to warm up when the outside temperature is 40 degrees.(F)
Hasn't gotten cold enough for me to really test it when it is actually cold.
I've noticed the car keeps the revs significantly higher when it's trying to warm up.
Normally, when eco is activated, the color starts changing around 1,500 rpm, but when the car is warming up it changes at 2,000 and when I'm maintaining speed the rpms stay at 1,500 whereas it usually sits at just above 1,000.

jordan is right, the heater uses the radiator energy, so it draws heat from it and makes harder for the engine to heat.
also, when i lived up in quebec, i could drive for 40 minutes and the car would still not have heated completely... -38 does that...
to get the actual temperature, just enter amazon and search for OBDII readers. tons of options, including the ones that link to the phone... cheap and small plugs.
