Re: Cold Air vs. Short Ram Intake

well many professional teck"s I talk too like K&N filters and intake kits
if you go online to the K&N site it will tell you exactly what your going to
expect as far as H.P. gains from one of these K&N hook up kits.

Re: Cold Air vs. Short Ram Intake

Injen cold air intakes have allegedly been tuned to the car.

A true cold air intake tends to have better results than a short ram intake. However, gains aren't fully realized until the car is tuned with the modifications. Prior to that it's running in stock format accept in light load/pedal positions and that's not where people play when they have an intake.

As for rain and true cold air intakes, there is a water sock you put over the filter to keep from sucking water. You just need to avoid slamming into lakes on the side the CAI is.

I have an 07 Si with full Skunk2 Megapower 70mm exhaust and the Injen Cold Ait Intake. Car has been street tuned by E-tunez. No other engine mods, stock engine otherwise.

Stock the car is supposed to have 197 bhp and 139 ft-lbs torque at the crank.

After the tune, I had it dyno'd. The car makes 203 hp at the wheels and 148 ft-lbs of torque at the wheels.

Cold Air Intake and Exhaust does give significant gains if the car is tuned with the mods.
