Somehow my wife doesn't have an owner's manual for her 2009 Civic we bought last year. Recently, we had its oil changed at a non-Honda dealership, and the OIL life dash display was not reset. Hence, we have an annoying yellow wrench that appears every start up along with a negative number of miles from when service was required...even though the oil and filter have been changed.
What are the easy to follow steps to reset this after an oil change?
Thank you VERY much for your help!!
You can probably do the trip miles button trick. Get in the car and put the key in the ignition and hold the trip miles reset button. Hold it for bout 5 seconds then turn the key to on while still holding the button. Hold it for bout 10 seconds after you turn the key to on and it should go off if not then an another easy way is to reset your ecu. The ecu fuse is in your engine bay fuse box. Locate it and remove it and plug it back in and it should be off. Sometimes on some cars there is a reset button under the drivers dash. Its on the right side of the steering wheel under the dash like where the fuse box is you can just feel round for it to see if you have it.
