Just bought a civic

I'm new to the civic world.. I just bought a 97 DX Hatch Back. It was lowered, has nitrous oxide, headers, and a new muffler not cat back. I am in the process of evaluating what needs to be done to get it to my standards. I was told I need new ball joints on one wheel. But, I want to raise the car up. One strut is broke on the same wheel that I need new ball joints.

I bought 2 new struts for the back then 4 new springs that are only 1" lower than stock to get the car up. The springs on it now are so low and were even cut to be lowered.

I want to remove the nitrous.

Anyone know a good place to learn the basics on honda's? I'm learning about the suspensions. I guess I could buy a coilover or struts then springs over the struts which will stay at that height. The coilover are adjustable? With the exhaust I guess I can get the cat back with the high flow cat? I already have headers.. I guess also I can upgrade the ignition system, new spark plugs/wires/coils, etc..? I want to put new rims/tires on but I was told I need a camber kit because after being lowered the wheels turn in and make the tires wear out fast?

Anyone know where i can find answers to so many basic questions? Are there import magazines? I just need to learn so many basics to this industry.

Try the DIY section to start with. Then google your questions. Google is a great source of information. Youtube has good how to videos.

other than the forum (there are tons of useful posts), check out a book called "civic duty" by alan paradise. it covers the basics and even some advanced stuff.
