car starts without apllying clutch

ok im intending in buying a 92 eg hatch with a 95 GSR swap...clean clean..but the only thing im concerned with is when i went to go test drive it...i could start the car up without applying the clutch...is this a mod?...or was something done wrong?..its a 6 puck clutch To remove this ad, register today for free or log in if already registered!

Someone could have removed or bypassed the clutch interlock switch. You should be able to look above where the clutch pedal is to see it and it should be connected to two wires.

Does the car have remote start? If so that would be one reason. Im sure someone just grounded the wire out. Not a problem as long as you dont have it in gear when you start it.
