driver wrench and heat to take off crankshaft nut?

i know this has been asked in various ways but i need to confirm something.
i need to get my crankshaft nut off and i read about the special tool. but I have a 500 lbs 90 psi 1/2 driver wrench with 150 psi compressor. it didnt work i tried 3 times. but im soaking it with wd 40 over night, then im gonna rinse it off in the morning and take my map gas torch to it. if i get it hot then try with the gun will it work? i read this i think a couple times but im not sure.

didnt i also read that 300 or 400 lbs would work? not for me man this thing is on tight.

Try around 1100 foot pounds in some cases. Get the crank pulley tool, two 1/2" breaker bars and a big cheater pipe. Best way to do it without air tools.

Re: driver wrench and heat to take off crankshaft nut?

i just ordered the part after reading some reports of 650 lbs guns not taking off the bolt. ic what u mean by 2 bar... sorta. put one on the part that i just ordered, and break the bolt with the other. but after reading the reviews of the tool, which got 5 stars all the way, noone mentioned a pipe. a pic would surely be nice

Re: driver wrench and heat to take off crankshaft nut?

Yep. Cheater bar. One breaker car goes on the pulley tool to hold it steady, the other breaker bar has the 19mm socket for the crank pulley bolt. The best way to do this is to use a jack stand to support the extensions that your using to make your 19mm socket reach the crank pulley bolt. This way all force goes towards loosening the crank pulley bolt and you have less up and down movement if the breaker bar/cheater bar/extension/19mm socket assembly is supported by a jackstand to pivot on. Check the Timing Belt DIY by reddawnman for what I'm talking about. It's a short video that shows this.
