need help with my engine swap

sup guys well im new to the site and i like it a lot well to start i have a 5speed honda civic 96dx non v tech i just put a 99ex 1.6 v tech engine head and intake manifold but im having problems with the car when it gets to a 1000 rpms its starts sounding weird but if i put more gas that would take it below the 1000 rpms the sound will stop the problem #2 is that if i let the gas go the car starts jumping or pushing like asking me for more gas it wouldnt do that when i had the stock head idk if is the computer thats giving me problems too cause i have a vtech e computer and i hucked it up to the vtech but i dont feel the v tech kicking neither sorry to bother ya guys but i guess ya the only ones that could try to give me an answer cause the guys on the street racing where i go they dont deal with hondas so they say they wont be able to help me thank you

so you put in a different engine but you kept the stock ECU um you need a new ecu buddy or a re-flash i know because my 01 blow and i put in a 03 powerplant and the ECU needed a re-flash but u have a 96 thats a low year bro(for me) i didnt start workin on hondas till 2000 good luck
