Windshield washer motor

I have a 2007 Civic and the windshield washer motor seems to have stopped working. I did hear it go on but no fluid came out. I added fluid and nothing came out of the nozzles with the motor running. Now the motor doesn't run at all. The weather was very cold, could this be part of the problem? Is it located in the washer tank and how difficult is it to get at? Re: Windshield washer motor

The problem was not my washer motor, it was the Blue washer fluid I used. It froze to a solid block of ice and I couldn't even remove the dip stick. I added warm water to the container until it melted and then siphoned it out and added Prestone washer fluid. As a recommendation to all of you, don't use the Blue washer fluid regardless of what it says because it sucks. Spend the extra few bucks on the Prestone washer fluid.

Re: Windshield washer motor

Most of them are rated -40 degree C, just make sure it says that on the jug.

Re: Windshield washer motor

The washer fluid I purchased had a rating of -20F and it froze solid! It was not even close to being that cold and this was with the car sitting in the driveway and not being driven with cold air being blown across the fluid container. I went to Aid Auto and this was all they had. I went to AutoZone and bought the Prestone and it's been fine since. Now I will throw away the $1.59 crap which is probably what it cost me extra to get the Prestone. I'll spend the extra two bucks for peace of mind.
