Re: Is This True?

Once your moving over 20 mph the difference between outside air temps and under hood temps has dimmenished to nothing. So, if you do a lot of racing, and need a shit ton more power under 20 mph, then go ahead and try it. Otherwise it's just a wast of time and money.

Wouldn't wrapping it in fiberglass do the same thing?

Re: Is This True?

Simple physics will tell you it's true. But think about how much time the air is spending in that pipe when you're driving at 60 kilometers an hour......next to zero so it won't matter. The largest problem with air intakes is where you get the air.....a short ram takes the warm air from the engine while a cold air intake gets it from closer to the bumper....colder air is denser.....denser air holds more oxygen.....more oxygen provides better combustion.

but still if the pipe stays cooler the air will still be cooler.. Im sure the air will warm up alittle bit.. When i touch the pipe after ive been driving, its pretty hot..

I want you to take off the pipe and ram your fist into it as fast as you can. Now wrap the pipe and ram your fist through it again.....do you feel a difference? No? Try ramming your fist through it at 100 times that speed because that's how long the air is going to spend in said pipe, it's irrelevant. You'd only notice a difference under prolonged periods of time.

Re: Is This True?

hes right, air moves too fast for it to be heated of any significance by the pipe. passing through the hot TB only raises the temp by 1-2 degrees. more than likely, the wrap will insulate even more and create the opposite effect, making the pipe hotter.

Re: Is This True?

Next weekend? Oh snap, it's Labour Day weekend! Be sure to head out and check out the mountains for a half day trip but if you're looking to party, some of the crappiest (but for some reason most popular) clubs are Cowboys and The Whiskey. If you're looking for the hottest fake chicks in western Canada, go to Tantra Nightclub, it's crazy there. Otherwise one of my friends is having a party Sunday night if you want to come out, and I could even arrange a meet with my local club, www.em2ab.com. If you're taking your car and can make the meet it'd be great!

And if you want to see the only Koenegsigg CCX in the country, I could arrange that as well. Ridiculous car.
