air conditioning not working... HELP

me and my friend ripped apart my car today to re run my sub wires (one was completely chewed up and needed replacement badly) anyways, we had to pull out the whole center console, and the whole piece where the deck is. we did the job, put everything back together, and started testing everything to make sure it all worked. everything seemed fine, the recirculation button, the rear defroster, the deck, all the knobs... but for some odd reason the air conditioning button was not going on. at first i thought the bulb may have went out but after testing it, it was just blowing room temp. air, and the air conditioner never came on(it usually came on auto with the front defroster and again it did not). can anyone venture a guess of what happened? we pulled it out and checked everything again and it looked fine. it was working fine before we pulled it open and i dont want to bring it to a service shop and get hit up for a fix. any help is greatly appreciated!! thanks!

check the fuses... that would be my first step, second make sure teh buton is still connected, and that the terminals arent bent or corroded
