Fustrated!! Please help....

Ill start this off by teling you that my car has been to the dealer, local mechanics, department store mechanics and myself and friends who have been doing this sort of thing for quite a while, and the problem not only has not been fixed, but cannot be diagnosed.

When in first gear, from a dead stop, as soon as the clutch is let out, thier is a progressivly louder *click*. This si loader in the way that this has been happening for almost 1 1/2 yrs, started faily silent and bearly audible, now loud enough to hear it accross the street over my exhaust.

When the clutch is let out, the clicking my hapen once, twice, or 4 times, depending upon what the click is feeling liek today....

I have checked the axels and joints, perfectly tight, no play, no leaks, no tears.... mint!
I have tightened the subframe.....
I have had the transmission rebuilt way back when this started and replaced the ALL the tranny bearings [incuding throwout and whatnot...]
I have checked the suspension with a fine tooth comb, tightening eveything and making sure thier is nothing "out of place" like.

I am open to any new idea, previous experinces or comments.... i dont think this is life threatning but i am going to be boosting my car in about 3-4 weeks and wanna make sure im not going to wreck something by just letting this fly..... help guys

Re: Fustrated!! Please help....

Could be any number of things. I'd take the tranny off and check everything to make sure there is no damage to the pilot or throwout bearing. Start there.

Re: Fustrated!! Please help....

I had a 2001 civic ex and i remember this kind of noise and i had the same problems trying to find what this noise was but i had no luck. the only answer i found was since i bought this vehicle new but from an outside dealership that sold vehicles that have been flooded and i did not know that the sales man that i bought this car from told me that the only bad part bad in this car was the carpet and they replaced other than that i really couldn't tell anything wrong with it. and i even bought a warranty that suppossed to cover bumper to bumper and when i needeed to use it they didnt help me out. but anyway it got o bad than later on riding on fourth gear it would come out gear or i just could not ride faster than 65mph thats when i thougt maybe it was the transmission. took it to a transmission mechanic and fourth gear was messed up. so i ended up seling the car. by the way the warranty i had did not wanted to cover the damage until all transmision was gone!!!

Re: Fustrated!! Please help....

I would Check out these things -> Axle nuts loose, Clutch Pressure plate springs loose, and check to make sure your tranny mount is not touching the frame.
These are a few things I ran across over the years.

Re: Fustrated!! Please help....

My 05 had a similar problem. The dealership replaced the clutch master cyclinder and the problem went away. Changed my clutch feel too.

Re: Fustrated!! Please help....

my civic did that for a long while after switching out the clutch and getting a new front motor mount, turned out that the front motor mount's bolts had just vibrated loose a bit and needed to be tightened, haven't had the problem since, took us a long time to figure it out too
