stainless steel exhaust rusting??

I've had my Magnaflow cat back for about 10-11 months and i've noticed that there seems to be some rust patches on the piping. Its stainless steel piping and mirror finish stainless steel muffler.im pretty sure stainless steel isnt supposed to rust, or atleast not very easily. I'm gussing this rust is do to the salt and junk on the roads. has anyone else had this problem? would Magnaflow take care of this considering there is a lifetime warranty?

thanks

Im not sure if its covered under their warrantee, you'd have to call them (1-800-824-8664) and find out. The rust shouldn't be too big of a deal as long as its just surface rust. I live in the desolat wasteland they call North Dakota and the SS exhaust on my stang and specV both have some minor surface rust. You could take a wirewheel to it and get all the surface rust off, then polish the shiot out of it with a high quality polish that will seal up the surface and prevent furture rust. I'd call flowmaster and see if they will warranty it if the rust is really bad though.

Ill look into those polishes/waxes. Im gena try and get a better look at it next time im under the car, if its really severe then ill call up magnaflow and see what the deal is. I've heard that it might be dicoloration from the chemicals used to melt ice which i would kinda hope it is. As for now, do u think some WD-40 would maybe help a little?
