what i dont get is if all these people want to do manual tranny swaps, why didnt they just get a manual in the first place?
i knew that when i got my car it was going to be a manual...
but as far as shifting techniques, i find heel-toe breaking just as important as double clutching, its also fun to do ;]
I cant drive auto's... Im always looking for the clutch
Plus it feels really slow.
How is the auto transmission in a civic? Its very sluggish in some cars.
How can you not drive what's easier? I learnt on manual, drive auto because I was given a 2003 Automatic Civic SI... I don't spend my time searching for the clutch...
Can't be mad at the one guy who professes love for an automatic... but i have to call into question your love for the vehicle and the road. Aside from the fact that the you have complete control of how you want your car to move, the performance/speed is so much better! My very first vehicle was a Ford Festiva (hate all you want, i know it was a pile, but i loved it!), manual, and my friend owned a brand new 2001 toyota celica automatic. EVERY time we raced, the festiva won be a landslide... or maybe that's just saying something about the quality of toyota's :P
Stick all the way. I've had 3 cars a 94 prizm stick, 91 legend sedan auto, & now 94 vic lx stick. Even though in my case its tough getting used to a 1.?L like less that 100hp from a 3.2L 200?hp v6
I prefer manual to automatic for sure. But you're a fucking retard if you spend your time sitting in an automatic feeling around for a clutch. I don't street race, I don't need to go from 0 - 60 quicker then what I do now (about 8 seconds).
They don't make the SiR in automatic I don't think, but they make the SI (just the little coupe) in automatic. Again, had it been my choice, I would of got standard, but the car was a gift, and I'm certainly not gona' spend money to put in a cheaper transmission, that would be stupid.
the car i have now is an 03 Mustang V6 with an automatic, got it when i was 16, mom wouldnt let me get the V8 or the manual like i wanted, but now im gettin my first brand new car, and 08 Civic Si, manual all the way baby
