Some major problems.

Ok, so here we go...

Symptoms:
no start
If it does start, it idle's under 500rpm
Touch gas, and it dies.

I know the car is running rich, but i'm confused at what to replace....Any input?

The car is a 96 civic EX d16y8 SOHC VTEC

sounds like It could be your fuel pump or fuel filter, I wouldn't chance driving it anywhere (if that's even possible) your going to need to get it towed.

Excuse the dumb question but Im not too familiar with that particular engine.
Do they have coil packs or distributor?

Because from my experience this can be a symptom of ignition timing problems or spark issues.

If it's very repetetive, its probably not temperature related. It wouldn't do it that many times if it was the temperature. It could be the fuel pump. Get it towed to a mechanic to check it out.

I dont think anyone mentioned temperature...

Its definitely timing related if its dying after touching gas.
Get a compression test firstly, see if all cylinders are firing correctly.

Failing this, and considering its running rich, it could be getting flooded with fuel.
Give it a huge rev when you first turn the car on, does black smoke come out?

I never said anybody mentioned temperature. I'm just narrowing it down a bit.

Another problem could be the fuel injectors. As it's not really the sort of thing you can fix yourself, once again, take it to a mechanic.

Injectors are pretty easy to replace yourself.
If it is indeed the problem, you can either get them sonically cleaned and tested, or completely replace them (expensive).

If you know how to take them out yourself you will save a heap of cash by doing that and simply taking them to an injector specialist for testing and cleaning.
