Custom Paint Job

I have this friend of a friend who claims he can give me an awesome custom paint job. We a talking dayglo purple with pimped out stripes on the side panels and kind of a smoked out effect on the backend. Anyways, he is not a professional, and I have only seen one car he has done. Problem is he wants to keep my car for like 3 weeks to get it done, and I really don't know this guy.

So should I get it done? he is wanting $1350 plus the cost of the paint.

heh pimped out stripes... people tend to think they make the car go faster

$1350 for what sounds like an airbrushing job is too cheap. It would not be a very good job at all unless the guy is totally losing out on money, which I doubt he would want to do.

Its hard to get away with an airbrush job for under $4000 normally.

Certainly is weird heh
Why would you want stripes? They are a waste of money IMO unless you're a super race car.

Stripes are pimp my brothas! I am not talking about stripes like on your grandma's vega, I am talking sweet stripes.

Anyways thanks for tip. It did sound too good to be true, and I am not going to be able to afford $4000 for a real job.

maybe I will just put the sweet stripes on myself.

Why are you wasting your time on stripes, you should be putting your efforts into tricking out your motor. Stripes don't win races.

Haha that is pretty good. Maybe he likes to look good but not feel good.

I think you should just get a $99 job at Earl Scheib and drop in a 357.

You have to look hot to be hot. The ladies like a bit of the pimp stripe. I might make my car look like fruit stripe gum.

Seriously though, looks are more important to me then acceleration.

I would just rather have a plain white car that looks as stock as possible so others think it is no big deal. Easier to sucker them in that way.

Fair enough... nothing beats a good performing car though.
What do you do when you're up at someone at the lights and they laugh at your stripes and speed off? You can't catch them.
