When Im upgrading, this is the path I will generally take: - Cold air intake, K&N Air Filter. - Free flowing exhaust system including cat. converter. - Upgraded exhaust manifold to allow more flow - Adjustable fuel pressure regulator - heavy duty clutch (not always necessary yet) - advance ignition timing These are the first step, basic upgrades. Would you recomend having a Muffler shop custom build your exhaust piping? Cuz I have read several other forums about cat's and everyone recomends having a muffler shop make you 2.5 in. pipe and then buying a decent muffler. Saves money.

Because its a standard car they may not need to custom make it, but most of the time they will. Its not cheap, but get a high quality stainless steel system made up and you'll love it.

It doesnt actually save you money, it usually ends up costing more to have custom piping made.

Depends if you go to a dodgy exhaust shop who have no idea how to weld and use cheap materials, or you go to a specialist workshop where they have high quality stuff.
Its like comparing apples to oranges.

Why you sometimes replace the clutch? Just for wear and tear? I would rather just burn out my clutch and replace it down the road then worry about paying for and babying a heavy duty clutch. But I am insane.

lol burning out the clutch is a very, very bad idea.
You always replace the clutch at the first sign of it wearing out, generally that will be with trouble changing gears, or a stickiness of the clutch.

If you're not prepared to fix the clutch when it needs it I have to ask why you have a car
