Hey guys, sorry if this question has been asked before but I couldn't find it in search. Anyway, how do you manually turn off the maintenance required light on the 2001 honda civic? It turned on after 10,000 mile mark I think so to remind me to change my oil. I already changed it, and am now wondering how to turn off the "main't req" light. I would use the manual but my brother left it in another state. Any help will be appriciated. Thanks.
I believe that it's 15-20 seconds you have to hold it. If it dosent work the first time then just keep trying. I had to do it like 3 or 4 times before it actually worked. I dont know why
Yeah, mine did that because I changed my own oil, so you know what - I read the operator's manual. I guess I'm just smart like that though.
Anyways, make sure the engine is off, push and hold down the mileage button, turn the key to the II (2) position, and wait about 30 seconds - it might be less, but just to be sure - then let go, turn the key to I (1) and then turn back to 3 and the maintenance light should dhut off like normal.
Merry Christmas!!
Peace
