Rep Power: 281 Is it a 7th gen?
If so, the sender sends the signal to the gauge cluster, then it interprets the level and activates an LED.
Don't have the wiring diagram for the other Civics on hand.

Rep Power: 267 When does that signal get tripped, anyway? When I first got the car I did the math on the fill-up and the mileage, and after a few tanks I figured out that once the light comes on, I can go at the absolute worst almost another 100 miles. What's the deal there? Trip it on with like a gallon and a half left so you know you got 50 miles or something.

Rep Power: 0 I have a 99 Civic..Does the fuel light flash when the ignition is turned on?? I tapped the cluster harness with a test-light and when the ignition was turned on, no power came through. I have drove my car with the needle below the red and still no light has came on..Now i don't think Honda would allow the needle further than that for the low fuel light to flash.Dunno.

Rep Power: 388 My '04 has the same problem as NoLead... I have 3-5 gallons left in the tank and the gauge reads empty and the light comes on... Went to the dealer, said it was normal for 7thgen's and gave me a service bulletin (sp?) for it. He said there is nothing to fix as the float just gets stuck... I think he's full of BS but oh well...
BTW, with my '01, never had an issue....

Rep Power: 269 for some reason, my fuel light has been going on at night, then the next day, the gas line will go up to 1/4 tank. so at night when it goes on, its just a false alarm. this has been happening for a few months now. i don't get it.
