Tips on gaining weight.

Well I'm 5'7 and weigh only 134-136.
My goal is to be 145 before winter ends.
Any tips on gaining weight?
I haven't tried any of those whey powders or weight gainers. Should i give it a
shot?
Lets just say i have a fast metabolism. I can eat anything i want.

Lift heavy, compound movements, eat a lot, but eat clean. For supplements, I would say whey protein, multivitamin and maybe some fish oil are all you need. I personally don't recommend things like weight gainer, cell mass, etc because they are loaded with sugar and/or fat.

You'll find much better prices online. GNC is notorious for marking stuff way up so people feel they're getting a good deal with the 20% Gold Card, but that just brings the products down to what other places normally charge.

bodybuilding.com has always been good to me.

I'll guarantee you aren't eating enough. People that 'just can't gain weight' and then make a journal of what they are really eating in the course of a week have a massive wakeup call when they realize that they JUST aren't eating enough.

Don't use your high metabolism as an excuse.

I used to be one of those people and used that excuse, too. Then I realized that I had to eat a ton more and add in more protein shakes.

Now I've got a lot of size and low bodyfat.

Do what RobbClark said too, heavy compound movements will make anyone grow (provided they are eating enough).

I agree. I used to be a gold card member and would shop at GNC all the time. Now I buy my stuff from www.bodybuilding.com also.

BTW......stay away from the weight gainer.

focus on the neglected food groups, ice cream, milk shakes, pasteries, and chocolate lol. dont forget chicken with skin lol. okay maybe not. but they do sell lactase enzyme pills almost anywhere. i couldnt live without em pretty much. almost everything you can eat has some sort of milk dairy derivative.

Believe me, once you gain the weight it is HARD and time consuming to lose it, this coming from someone who just lost 55 lbs. since March 2006.

If you're an ectomorph and you gain weight, you'll have no problem losing it should you get sick or stop eating for a few days.
