my back hurts

Ok well first off i've thrown my back out a couple times to the point where for a few weeks its nearly impossible for me to stand up from sitting down and vice versa. Well I've gone to the doctor for it and they dont see anything wrong with my back.

It always happens when i'm active for a while. Like if I play football with the guys all day.

Well today we bought some boxing gloves and its all good. Well after a few rounds and i'm done, my back is hurting me straight down the center more towards the top half. It doesn't hurt if I turn my head to the right but if I turn my head to the left, it hurts like shit.

Anybody know what could possibly be wrong with my back or have this problem also? Or what I could do to prevent it. Thanks.

Anybody have any guesses?

what kind of doctor did you go to? this might be shameless advertising more than advice because my father is a chiropractor, but you might want to visit a local chiropractor.

there are many times where i have that same symptom where i can turn my head one way but not the other way, and i've had adjustments for that. immediatly right after, i'm able to turn my head in every which way.

as for prevention, you might want to do some stretching of your back to warm it up a little. i have weak knees that will crack if i just squat and i've noticed that if i do some light exercises before more heavy activity, i don't have that problem with my knees.

depending on your insurance policy, you may have to pay a deductable.

jpan_home is on a distinguished road
Try exercising when you get better... chiropractor is the way to go, along with a massage therapist if you can afford it.

Swimming is good, and try some core exercises. Yoga for example is amazing. Good luck!

All I have to say is STRETCH. I get back pains as well... usually upper back pains from working out or playing sports. I have a buddy who's a registered massage therapist and another buddy who's a physiotheripst... both have told me to stretch atleast twice a day to prevent back problems.

Also if you can, go get a massage ... and i'm not talking about the massages you get with a happy ending.
