Joining a gym *updates as of 10-12-06*

I'm sick of my god damn love handels. Ive lost 40 pounds and yet thier still there. My plan join a gym work the extra 20 pounds off and tone up, all by my birthday so I can look super good for my b-day. Who thinks it can be done by november 12th?

I mean im happy with how I am now kind of I get alot of comments like damn Andrew when did you get skinny? I guess compared to 235 I am, and 195 was my goal weight, but I think 5'11" 175 pounds would be a good weight.

EDIT for updates
Ok so my official weigh in 1 month ago was 203 pounds(on a good scale, was 195 at home scale), at 18.1% body fat

1 month into it, I am at 193 pounds at 16.8% body fat, I as well as all of my freinds can already see a huge diffrence. Only 2 more months to try and meet my goal, I know I can do it now.

***NEWEST UPDATE***
Currently 183 pounds, Abs are starting to show though and the veins in my arms are showing up nicely. My love handles are there still but shrunk alot. I have 30 days until my b-day, I think if I can drop another 1 1/2 inches around my waist i'll be good. But will probably want more off.

Started at 40 inch wasit, currently at 31 inch. Went from wearing XL's(some tight fitting) to medium's. Bicep measurment was 12 inches now 14 1/2 inches, Chest was 44 inches now 42 inches. I think in another month I can get down to 175, my new goal is 170 pounds at 10% body fat or lower. But after my 21st I'll post the before and after pics of what a huge diffrence you can make yourself look in year.

Suppliments are Mega Mens and CLA.

just remember your diet is the key to weight loss, I have gone from 220 to 164 and have almost completly lost my love handles and a body fat % around 6, I work out around 3-4 hours a day usually 2 hours of cardio and 1-2 of strength training. I think to really start lossing fat you need to lift every day. I do a simple 3 stage program with one day legs, another day arms and chest, and the 3rd day shoulders and back. I've noticed a lot fo improvment in how i feel and i dont get very many cravings for crappy food anymore

yeah same here I was at my old weight in december ,and decided im sick of it, so 7 months later after alot of dieting and some cardio 3 days a week i am at my current weight. I don't sncak anymore and keep my meals simple and usually pretty healthy and proper peportioned.

ok so I joined last night, its a club fitness, it wil lwork for what I need. $20 a month and they waived all the enrollment fees. And thinking about getting a personal trainer, just for like a month ot get me started.

You can lose about two pounds a week. Anything more is generally water weight, which you don't want.

But if you're a noob, you might be able to lose weight a bit faster. So 20 pounds would take about 10 weeks, which is like 2.5 months, so you totally have time to do that before November.

How's your mouth?

my mouth is fine, the bone is pretty much healed but they will have the spreader in there until october so it dosen't collapse or anything. And I get braces put on my top teeth on the 27th. I have been eating regular food as much as I can at meals, and still keeping the wieght off.

Just run like a mofo and stop eating junk food including sweet drinks like iced tea and sodas. But yeah, gym is good too.

Personal trainers may be good for some, but not for me. I'm not saying I know everything about everything when working out, but in my gym, I wouldn't pay them to train me. All I see the trainers in my gym do is tell their trainees to jump around like idiots, use resistance bands, and lift max of 5 lb weights. Heck, you could do all that exercising at home in your living room and save your money.

Good, just dont get sucked into it. I seriously think some trainers talk their mouths off to waste time and dont push their trainees to get the max payable "sessions" out of their trainee "cash cows".

Yeah. A lot of trainers suck. But some are good. If it's free, it can't hurt.

Truthfully speaking, I haven't seen a good trainer on the floor yet.

I've seen good ones in the special rooms though, working with athletes... I used to wrestle and power-lifting was kinda important, and the trainers are good... of course, not everyone wrestles, and I wouldn't recommend them to my mom... I'd get one of those on the floor...

some inspiration: my bro has gone from 330 to 295 in a lil over 3 weeks by doing doubles at the gym and eating only salad, chicken, and water. you can hit your november goal easily.
