Trying to body build. Advice anyone?

Alright i'll breakd own my past few years and myself.

I am 20 years of age. from age like 14-18 i think i sat at 125lbs and never moved haha. when I was 19 school ended i worked full time in a warehouse and put on 5 pounds or so. muscle i Feel.
I'm 5'10 and my waist at age 19 was a 34.

I turned 20 and was acepted by the canadian military. I did some working out mainly cardio to get myself ready for the training stress.

Went through basic and started back at 130lbs dead on. I came out at 144 and a waist size of 32

This is what got me into it.

Now I live about a 6 min walk from the large gym here on base. and about 8 min walk from work. I hate walking so I am getting a bike and plan to take the long way.

I am looking to tone my stomach and build my sholders and arms into a mire visible "look at me " type of body style.

someo f this also came from my Ex bitch... er I mean gf. who I'm just wanting to.. I dont know. Spite.

Issue's. how much time should I spend on weights and ho wmuch cardio?

Also I am not a breakfast person. even making cereal seems useless as I have no eagerness to eat so early. So what is good fresh food to buy and eat? sliced meats fresh? or fruits?

Any advice would be great. I want to hit 160+ without my waist getting any wider. I do plan to start biking an hour a day or os I think.

Thanks IronFist, but just in case he doesn't want to make the jump over to AE, let's give him a little kick-start, here.

The very first thing you must understand about building muscle and changing your body composition is that it's 75 percent diet. Food. Lotsa food, and the right food. The workouts are maybe 15 percent of the process, and rest and recovery are the remainder.

So, more than anything else, you are gonna have to be prepared to alter your diet, significantly. Otherwise, you will do nothing but go round in circles.

You will need to eat 5-6 moderately sized meals every day. You will need to drink up to a gallon of water per day to keep your kidneys healthy. You will need to be eating lean chicken, turkey, fish, egg whites, and beef, for proteins, and carbs will consist of oatmeal, brown rice, sweet potato, whole wheat pasta, and lentils. Healthy fats for your diet include extra virgin olive oil, fish oil, natural nut butters(peanut, almond, cashew), avocados, and flax seed oil.

You will have a learning curve, to discover how the 3 macros(protein, carbs, and fats) all fit together in a ratio which is both healthy and promotes muscle growth. You want to build muscle, not fat.

And, very importantly, you MUST eat a proper breakfast, every single day.

Good luck. If you do your homework, you and your girlfriend will eventually have something better to look at, with your shirt off.
