Has anyone practiced Capoeira? A Capoeira club is starting up at my school and I am joining it. I was just wandering if anyone else has tried it. I know we have a lot of MT fans on here, but I haven't heard of many Capoeira fans.
Real fights don't look like they did in Only the Strong
There were a few guys in an MMA club we had in college that could make Capoeira work, but that's because they were fighting against us noobs. I have some pics of it (screen shots I took with a digital camera of my TV where a VHS tape was playing) that I can try to post later when I get home tonight if you guys are interested.

I've touched base with Capoeira slightly... I honestly wouldn't mind learning this style either. It's really cool to watch and hard to learn. I also have a breakdancing background so some of this stuff comes easy to me.
The only thing you have to worry about, if you decide to train in this style, is who's training you? Unless it's a master with a certain level, I wouldn't spend to much money/time learning this from some amature/medicore teacher. Apparently this style of martial art is very desciplined, technical and proud... if an amature is teaching you... even though he looks cool doing it... you can look like a total donkey to people that are properly trained.

Yeah, it's definitely not fighting. It's more of a glorified dance-culture type of thing. But if thats what you're looking for, do it! I think it'd be good for flexibility / coordination more than anything else.
