Re: Engine Swap Specifications

We might need to separate these into the civic generations that they fit into. Someone is bound to ask can I put a b16a2 into a 2005 civic? Legally and within reason they can't. I don't think we need to promote someone into putting an illegal engine into their car.

Re: Engine Swap Specifications

I totally agree with you, that was next on my list... its going to be a little difficult to seperate and dont want to make too many duplications... so what i was thinking was listing engine years instead of gens they fit into. That way people know if its legal or not.

Re: Engine Swap Specifications

I think listing engine years is the best way to go about it. I couldn't come up with a different way that would be not complicated. Just need a statement saying you can only swap engines from the same year or newer. Transmission options might be something else to include.

OOO.... might be getting beyond my knowledge there but I'm sure I can do some research... engine years should be fairly simple.

Re: Engine Swap Specifications

Adding years will get insane, I vote we go by models with an asterisk at the top that says you can't swap in older motors due to emissions regs.

We could have a really broad swap guideline for the general section, with more specifics in the gen forums.

Re: Engine Swap Specifications

models will get insane too... you should just know but i understand how much more useful this would be if we knew which cars each engine could be swapped into.. also.. im missing about 67 engines here... hmm

Re: Engine Swap Specifications

Swap guide for EFs, its the most massive detailed one out there..
To detailed for a general swap thread, but this should be stickied in their forum and info can be pulled from it for this sticky.

Re: Engine Swap Specifications

For the time being instead of putting years or models I'm putting the last year the engine was manufactured. its a pretty good reference for people to guy by when theyare deciding on a swap... until i can get the car models in there... which might take me a while.

I think I have the B series finished.

Re: Engine Swap Specifications

Yea, but keeping it local on here.. and only including the swap-worthy engines... after that people can search up on whether their OBD will work and if its a legal swap etc. .. we can link it directly into our performance gain thread.
