HELP! My glove compartment is stuck!!

Okay, I have a 1999 Civic LX, 4 door sedan. No major problems ever; I live in Washington (left California). My glove compartment recently wouldn't open. It doesn't have a lock. I barely have anything in there except for my insurance/registration, so there definitely is nothing stuck there to cause it to stick. It won't budge. The latch seems like it's locked. I'm pretty annoyed. Does anyone know how I can get it to open short of destroying it? HELP PLEASE!

PS. it's not frozen shut. It's been colder in the past and never has happened.

Re: HELP! My glove compartment is stuck!!

I've tried banging on it to dislodge anything that might be stuck. I'm trying to figure out a way to open it like through screws somewhere. I'll keep trying.

Re: HELP! My glove compartment is stuck!!

Underneath your glove box there should be a piece of plastic to hide all thats up in there in that compartment and some wires. It pops out in most cars but there may be some screws, I'm not too familiar with your car. Just look under there and pop that plastic thing out. From there reach your hand back and put it on the back of the glove box and push it while holding the latch open. If that doesn't work just take the screws out that hold on the glove box. Hope that this helps! Tell us how it goes.

Re: HELP! My glove compartment is stuck!!

WgnrNick, thanks. I will try to see if I can do that. I'm sad just because it seems like with car problems, when it rains it pours. I have the manifold problem and now my small little glove compartment! ugh. It's a 1999 Honda Civic LX Sedan if anyone knows about it!
