Re: Crazy people and guns

Well this might be interesting to you guys, at the end of last semester there was a huge debate in the editorial section of the Collegiate Times (Virginia Tech's newspaper) about allowing concealed weapons on campus.

One of the lines at the end of one of the arguments was "Make a rapist's day worse, carry a gun in your purse!"

Stuff like that is why I am all for concealed carry. I would like any one to think twice about pulling a gun out and shooting or committing any other crime.

I'm all for people being able to carry, but on college campuses really? You know how many stupid drunken fights and shit occur lol. I can just see the number of shootings because a guy is drunk and sees another guy hit on his girlfriend or some shit. Immature and drunk people + firearms FTL. I don't know about other campuses around the country but the amount of crime that occurs is like nil, the last violent crime was like 3 years ago (and I think like 16,000 students live on this campus).

30,000 total or that live on campus? That sucks, I hope I don't get sexually assaulted. I will start carrying a .45

Also how many of those are violent sexual assaults where a weapon would be useful, compared to where a chick (or guy I guess) got too hammered and the next day is like omg I got F*cked!?

30000 total, about 24-25000 undergrads Both kinds of sexual assault happen. Honestly, I think most of the violent ones are protected little children (asians) whose parents don't tell them that there are bad people in the world. They put themselves into bad situation. What the hell do they expect is going to happen. I get a chuckle out of some of the police reports.

Any who... they are happening. I just am looking for a reason to pack heat.

Re: Crazy people and guns

Odd thing about sexual assault. its one of the few crimes where the "victim" can claim they were assaulted even after giving consent, and where the burden of proof lies more with the defendant trying to prove one's innocence rather then the accuser proving guilt. As in, rather then it being Innocent until proven guilty, its Guilty until proven innocent.

Domestic abuse is handled the same way. the Accused is assumed guilty until proven other wise.

That's a reason to pack sexual release waivers

Re: Crazy people and guns

I am all for people who are intelegent enough to carry a concealed weapon having the ability to do so, however, to draw a line in the sand is almost impossible. Does anyone have a test that will prevent a stupid idea in a unexpected situation?

Like this one: http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...show_article=1

Not an example, but still you get my point.

Re: Crazy people and guns

How about we just have breeding licenses... That would solve a lot of problems.
