I'll be at work, making money to support the illegal immigrants.
last i heard they dont really have access to public services. i know they take their children to public schools. but hey, they pay sales tax and have taxes deducted from their paychecks. in most cases, they dont even file tax returns when in reality, they would actually get money back. that sounds like a pretty good deal the irs is getting. it might make you feel superior by thinking that you "support" them but that really isnt the case.
they dont get health care and welfare. the only case i know of an undocumented alien getting any of the above is because their child is in fact a us citizen and it is offered to the child only. you might have the argument that that child shouldnt be a citizen but hey, i doubt you would have the heart to turn a sick child away.
and no, i dont support an amnesty in general but i do support some sort of action taken to legalize the people that have been here for over 5 years, pay taxes and make an effort to co exist with society. then give them a "trial period" for them to prove they are worthy of being here. i'm mexican myself and see a whole lot of people from my country that i would gradly see out of here.

Its called a "green card" if illegals should get one because they've "made it this far" then why should there be any immigration laws to begin with
My girlfriend starts a new job on Tuesday. We were going to spend about 300-500 on clothes today. I heard about this on the radio while headed there and I remembered. I turned around went home and we are doing all of our shopping tomorrow.
I can't believe some of the responses, like "kicking them out" and "put 'em in jail". Regardless if the are "illegal", they do jobs the majority of Americans will not even consider doing AND they do it happily WITH a crappy wages too!!!
I hope they crippy your economy tomorrow to teach everyone a lesson that they ARE important to YOUR economy.

It's not like they don't have a chance... tons of immigrants come to this country legally every day. It's a long, slow process. I know this because I've watched the Girlfriend and her family go through it.... six years they've been here and they just got greencards like 2 weeks ago.
Illegal immigrants need to quit acting like they don't need to go through the same process, go back where they came from and get into this country like respectable immigrants do
damnit around my house here in LA they blocked off a buncha major streets which is a pain to get around...oh well they can do what they want...it still doesnt give me a day off from work...i gotta go and ship 14 40lb boxes tomorrow to one place...
i'm not saying kick them out...but seriously...if they went through the process, got their green cards they could make a much better life for themselves. immigrants do it everyday. one of my friends is becoming a citizen in Canada, then will apply for citizenship in America. if he can go through all that, then illegal immigrants can apply for a green card.
plus all those crappy jobs they take...couldn't one of the million homeless/unemployed people (that are legally born in the country) take them? i don't understand why we have to fight for illegal immigrants' rights (isn't that an oxy moron?) when we have so many legal citizens that could benefit from the jobs the illegal immigrants take.
Think about what this will do the the unemployment rate. Since illegals don't count towards that rate when they all walk off the job and get fired it will open up hundreds of thousands of jobs for people to take. This is our chance America! Lets get the unemployment even lower.
I will join the boycott. Theres a walkout at school tomorrow, but before I do I'll turn in my homework ^_^
i hope your ****ing kidding. why join the boycott. borders in other countrys are enforced much more then they are here. other countrys would never let this happen. there are boarders for a reason. i dont understand the point in letting illegal immigrants stay in this country. its lilke if you can cross the boarder you get a prize. bull shit. thats stupid. they need to be brought back to mexico. I do think they need to bring out the fire hoses and the dogs like they would in the 50's and 60's.
I would like to see the american people that are willing to mow lawns, do janitoral work, work in factories that sew clothes, work for low wages. Majority of everyone on here are focused on getting a education. Getting a degree or work at a bank, dealership, etc... finding a good paying job. The american public grows up thinking I'm not flipping a burger. The trend of low paying jobs going to the immigrants has been around forever. And that ain't changing. No eduacated american is aiming to make a career of mowing lawns. Face it people the latino populace is a large one that in the future will decide american politics. Wheater you or I like it or not. Is this walkout/boycott going to dramatically change the landscape of america? NO. On May 2 everyone will be back at work. In today's america a boycott needs to take place over several months for the economy to be impacted. This is also true of not buying gas on a particular day. I do not agree with the boycott/walkout but I do support my fellow latinos on the cause. American businesses that make a low profit margin depend on cheap labor to attain that margin. If their labor rates go up so does there product. If they can't compete they go out of business or head south for the border. Bottom line is ..um.. what was my point again?

I will not attack your comment or be hostile, because well thats your opinion, but I will kinda of criticize it because I want to have an actual nice debate, rather then flaming.
They don't neccesarily do it happy, they just consider it another day much like I do with my job. I go into to work every day because its part of my life, that does not make me happy but its my way of life no matter whether its McDonalds or Best Buy. So assuming they are HAPPY to do it is kind of far fetched, and the reason they GET crappy wages is because to them its alot of money, when you are an illgeal immagrant you can get around alot of things, such as no taxes. 1/4 of my pay goes almost, If I make 7.xx an hour I am not to bad off and that would work for me, because after taxes it is something i can support myself with. If I was working 5.xx an hour with NO taxes I would be JUST as happy. We don't take fed/state/SS and all the crap out I make a HELL of alot more money. The fact remains that alot of illegals do the dirty jobs, but that is because THOSE companies choose to allow them to do it. Now if they could get a DL and pass a MVR and drive for a trucking company, or work for Geek Squad or something then they would not be doing the dirty jobs.
They don't do the jobs that we would NOT consider doing, they do the jobs that they are ALLOWED to do, they have no choice, because they make the WRONG choice.
If they were all kicked out of the country tomm they WOULD effect our economy, but it would easily remedied because the unemployment rate would hit an ALL time low. I have lost count in the past were I would take ANY job I could, at one time I was applying to work in a roofing company, but because they could do the same job as me for LESS money an hour of course I did not get it.

Um.... last time I checked they were never given a chance, they were shoved into reserves.
