Not really. Thats how it was before Roe. Every state made their own decision on the issue. The courts have changed so now someone has to challenge it.

If they voted it, then that's democracy in action.

^yup, that's what it is.

Now it's up to the courts to decide if it's unconstitutional. Get ready for a long, drawn-out debate.

Personally, I believe abortions should be legal because we don't have the authority to tell a person what she can and cannot do to her body. As far as I'm concerned, an unborn child is nothing more than a parasite living off its host. However, I also believe that states should be allowed to decide their own laws. I might not support this law, but I support the right of the state to pass it.

On a side note, I love it how conservatives speak of liberal activists and these people are nothing more than conservative activists...lol. They applaud the law banning abortions but raise hell when someone allows two lesbians to marry. Go figure.

ROFL

Holy Crap. We all used to be parasites.

I have a 6 month old little baby, and he's the cutest thing on earth. It perplexes me how people could willingly kill little babies... even if they are unborn or... "parasites" as you call them....

It all depends on when you consider life to begin. I don't think that an unborn child is alive but that's why we have opinions. Each person is entitled to their own and we do not have the right to tell then what they should and should'nt think.

IDK, I think it's a personal matter and not one for anyone else to decide unless the woman is mentally unfit. Based on that, I have to support a woman's right to choose.

It is funny to think of a baby as a parasite, tho. LOL

Holy crap. This has so many implications.

If you are on welfare, are homeless, or have ever gotten help from government, you are a parasite.

Houston welcomed 200,000 parasites from New Orleans after Katrina.

It just keeps going.....

thats the point he is making. Some times just because the dictionary agrees with you it doesnt mean you are right. You could play this game with anything. Call it by the worst name it could quallify for. My mom is a brawd.

Actually, those people from Katrina in Houston are not parasites according to Dictionary.com:
  1. Biology. An organism that grows, feeds, and is sheltered on or in a different organism while contributing nothing to the survival of its host.
    1. One who habitually takes advantage of the generosity of others without making any useful return.
    2. One who lives off and flatters the rich; a sycophant.
If youre using def. 2a, those people in Houston actually do give back in the form of taxes (even sales taxes when they spend the federal money). They also help the economy of the places they're at because those hotels are now full and the restaurants are serving up more than they used to. They are symbiotic, not parasitic. However, if you look at the biologic definition, babies are nothing but parasites.

I know it was a joke.

But seriously, the katrina evacuees are parasites. Just because they get 100% of their money from the government, and they spend it, and the gov't gets 8.5% back (the going sales tax of California... I know, it sucks), that doesn't mean that the gov't is GETTING money from them. They are actually spending a whole lot of money for no apparent good.

Calling babies a parasite is the same as calling wisdom teeth, your toenails, or your sex organs parasites. It's your flesh, just as your child is your flesh.
