| Everybody knew, it's one of those things... "if an earthquake hits San Francisco, 80,000 people could die". Yeah, we know that, but that's like a worst case scenario. No one expected it to actually happen. Hurricaines hit every season, multiple times. Why would you always expect the worst thing to happen?
It would be stupid if you didn't know it was a possibility. Bush knew it was, but did he expect it? No. It was a remote possibility. But it happened this time.
I like how the federal gov't was prepared, with supplies ready to go and all that jazz. Yet because the beaucracy failed us, the blame gets passed to the fed. gov't, not the state or local gov'ts. Sad all around. |
