| It should be raised, though it won't do a whole lot of good, but some good is better than no good which is what the current minimum wage is.
Really, I would be ok with the current minimum wage if raises given at minimum wage jobs were given more frequently and where a little greater. I remember when I worked at Burger King in HS, I started at $5.15, and we would get raises every six months and it would only be between $.05 -$.15, which is fvcking bullshit. I think that they should make laws to force companies to give raises every 3-4 months based on performance, time spent at the company, and overall usefullness of your position. Of course some people are slackers and a lot of holes would need to be filled in exactly how the law would be written, but I think that would be the best course of action. Not to mention, companies would get better results and performance from their employees since they will be more motivated to get the best raises possible. |
