Costs of the "war"

Did anyone see the Harper's Index this month? I read it last night and, according to them, as of January, the war has cost $15.000 per U.S. household.

I don't know about you, but I can think of at least 50 places where that money would've been better spent. Hell, they could've given it to us in a check and made us all happy!

... so if i complain to the gov't that i want my 15,000 back they will give it to me b/c i would love to have that money back... especially when my fam. makes a total of 45g's BEFORE tax

15k would pay for a lot of medical insurance. Or even pay a lot of soldiers a living wage.
