Capitalism in action. Dont bash it. Its a natural swing.
I agree. Capitalism is all about free marketing and allowing an industry to self regulate its price depending on what consumers are willing to pay. If you buy the gas at that price there is no reason for them not to sell it for that price.
BTW, did you guys know that most GM and Ford vehicles are capable of running on E85 (a mix of 85 percent ethanol and 15 percent gasoline)? All you have to do is pump it and it runs. They did this so they could claim environmental deductions and credits from their taxes but never told the public because they want you to keep buying gas from the big companies.
Brazil has been using E85 for a while now and they've managed to reduce their dependence on foreign oil dramatically. BTW, if we could do that we'd control our economic destiny.
hmm, ok, so the government says no gouging at the pumps. but o i see. its ok at the source of the problem? that is BS. they should hit them with a fee of DOOM so they give us some cash back and lower the prices. they don't HAVE to charge that much. its just that fat guy chooses to

I agree completely.
I'm exceptionally irritated because I had to pay $53 to fill my civic yesterday

That's what taxes are for. When companies make a big profit it gets turned back into our economy in the form of taxes.
You cant just tax companies because they are too good. The job of the board is to serve their stock holders above all else. Now they should be ethical as well. However look at the amount of money it takes to make money in the oil industry. If you have insanely high investments you will have insanely high profits. In 2004 they spent $256,794,000,000 they made 298,035,000,000. Its an expensive industry what they forget to report is the investment #'s next to the profit #s.

well then that's your fault for not reacting in a natural manner. You are buying 7 dollar gas when there is 2.50 gas for sale. I understand you have a swap but then that's your fault for not analyzing all of effects of modding your car. Your the equivalent of the guy complaining about the gas for his speed boat. My insurance is insanely high but when I was 17-19 I drove like a tard. So I cant complain.

I know the "effects" of modding my car. I don't need some guy on the internet to tell me to buy mid-grade gas.
My point is that this company is making a ridiculous amount of money in profits when they don't need to. There are a lot of companies that are suffering because of high gas prices ... GM and Ford are some of them.
