WTF is this all about? That happened to the Republicans being all about small government and privacy? This is not something for the government to regulate. It is a parent's responsability to ensure children don't surf porn just as it's their respoonsability to ensure their children don't play with matches. A kid playing with matches could cause damage to private and public property but nobody is trying to outlaw that. Leave people to do their own parenting, that is not the government's job.
I don't know. man it makes me sick. I feel left behind by my party..... Then when I look to the other party I see a drunk and a loud wife. I agree life needs to happen and the government needs to stay out of it. I looked at porn from the age of 11. I am in a 3 year committed relationship and have never cheated. I bet if you look at people who cheat, curse, steal, and other generally bad things media has nothing to do with it. I have seen 100000000000 vaginas and have only touched one. I have watched a 1000000000 murders and have never killed anyone. I think it has something to do with the fact my parents were there and made sure I knew the difference between right and wrong. Why cant parents just teach their kids personal responsibility and the pride you have when you do take personal responsibility?
I agree and disagree with you there. Personally, I think Porn sites should have a(n) special web address like .xxx or what ever so as, you can keep them from comming up in searches... If not removed from the web entirelly. It is simply un-needed material. Besides, you can keep your kids from playing with matches, by simply not having them. It is a little bit harder to regulate what your children are doing on the internet to a point. And yes you can say something coy like.. Don't have a computer, don't have internet, shit I could go on all day with those type of remarks.
Fact being, with the rate that people are logging on to the Internet, we need laws and restrictions protecting our kids from this filth.
You can limit what your kid sees on the net. Put the kids computer in the living room. Take the power cable to work with you. Its that simple. We have too much stuff to protect our kids. Porno is such a mandatory thing for the net. With no porno most guys wouldnt pay for the net. Hardware or service. When the comcast add says "download streaming video" 90% of the guys who call in call for naked people. I dont need super fast connections for text. Be a good parent. If you are you will have a good kid even if he sees an anal gangbang.

Nick.. you never seem to amaze me with how little sense you make! Porn and the Internet are not a staple like Apple and Pie. Nor will it ever be. The average age of new users is both getting younger and older at the same time. Simply turning the computer off will not keep your child from accessing sensative material. Nor will taking it into a different room. Porn and the Internet is not a subject that can be simply ignored. Regardless of what people think, say or act, there are and needs to be limits on what constitutes Free Speech. If you want to look at that stuff, that is your right, just like everyone elses. But, it needs to be monitored and controled better than it is at the moment and it should be seprated from other content.

whats sensitive about it? They put pictures of dead people floating in NOLA. I still see the twin towers going down on a weekly basis. I see war on the news every night. Sex is what we do. Its part of life. Some of us dont find it to be nasty or "sensitive" If you dont want your kids to see it then keep it from them. My parents kicked me out of the room many times when I was young and the news was on. But to put another wall up will not solve a thing. How will making it .xxx change a thing? It will just be more retarded ligislation. Be a good parent. Speed limits dont keep speeding under control. If you make it illegal you will just turn us in to a bunch of criminals. Also a bunch of companies will move to Mexico or Canada. Atleast if they are here we can collect taxes on the 9 billion dollar industry.
We also just argued to the world that we wouldnt edit the internet. If we do this we will end up with different internets for every country.
Parents can create login accounts in Windows that restricts what kids can do. They can also set up logs that track what sites their children go to. This is not something we need the big, bad government to step in on.

When you put it that way. Now, a boob shot here and there in a "R" rated movie (which, kids are not supposed to be able to get into to begin with) is one thing. Now to the other items... when you/I see those things in "Film" both you and I know that they are fake. Watching two people "Go" at it is another thing for me completly. I really do not even care to watch the fake sex scenes and I would never watch a film, if I knew it had "Real" sex scenes in it. So, I am sorry gearbox, as far as I am concerned, you are trying to compare Apples and Oranges.
Maybe its the fact that I am Christian and goto a Christian University that make me the way I am, maybe its just my genes. I think the world would be better without going into a store and seeing Porn Mags behind the counter or the half naked chicks on the mags infront of the counter.

haha. ya i guess it depends on how you see sex. some will say its gross and disgusting, others like me will say its a natural thing that is one of our most common and normal behaviors. you can deny it all you want, but we are still animals that sleep, eat, and have sex just like any other. people act as if its some sort of forbidden behavior in public then go home at night and do it anyway. I just don't know what the big deal is.
A 9 year old boy could care less about porno. to a 9 year old porno is like an R rated movie its borring and stupid but you know you shouldnt be looking at it. So you get excited about the fact its against the rules. After about 30 seconds he would put it back and run giggling to his juice box and power rangers.
A 11-14 year old boy will lift a house from its foundation if he knew there was porn under there. I remember when I was just hitting puberty my friends and I were on a constant hunt for porno. We heard one kid found a porn in a field so we would ride our bikes in fields for hours just looking. You cant stop a 13 year old boy from trying to find it. Leave a 13 year old boy in your house and i guarantee your top sock droor will be destroyed in 30 seconds, the shelf in the closet will take 45 seconds, your bed will be moved away from the wall in 60 seconds.
I dont know why when people have kids they forget what life was like. We all remember being 13 and tearing the house up looking for your dad or older bro's stash(i never found it :-( ). So making it illegal will simply make you the adult a criminal for exposing your insanse 13 year old son to "sensitive" material. Think back on your time in jr high. It all revolved around trying to get porno. Highschool was all about trying to get ass and having porno. Why do parents forget about that?
If not for porno I would be late for work because "it" would take too long. Then I would end up getting upset at everyone and yelling. I would go on public assistance, and drag the economy down.
