Did anyone happen to catch Pat Robertson at his best this week?

It's nice that you find it convieniant to bash christians when they say stupid things, yet you don't bash any other religions when they say stupid things?
Why don't you either:
1. bash all religions and clerics that say stupid things equally, or
2. get your nose out of the christian channel?
What he believes is what he believes, and if you knock him for it, then you should be knocking the hindu's for believeing in their 300 million gods, the satanists for believing in devil worship, the muslims for believing in their 70 virgins, or anyone that beleives in anything.
He's talking to people that, for the most part, beleive in the same thing he beleives in. It's not something that you could understand or agree with, because you're not his target audience. Leave his viewpoint alone, or persecute all other religions equally, because you don't understand any of their viewpoints.
Shutup and be happy you are not catholic. If you are then you have a foot to stand on. However if you arent you shouldnt assume that everyone thinks all christians think like pat. And everyone does think those other religions are nuts. Also why did pat come out and say he never said what he said.

Second, being a Christian, I have the right to complain when someone from my own religious background says stupid shit like that on national television. Personally, I think the FCC needs to start slapping him with fines for causing un-needed controversy the way they pimp slapped Howard Stern around (is this a case of What’s good for the Goose is good for the Gander?). He is a religious leader and being who he is, has a powerful voice in the national level. I think the people who run his program need to take a step back and think whether or not; they really want Pat representing their future affiliations.

So, you are saying he needs to be slapped with fines because of his personal belief that God is punishing Sharon for compromising with the arabs...? This opinion was harmless and not very contraversial. Nobody really cares what he thinks.
Sure, when he says something about killing Chavez or whoever, that's one thing. But we're not talking about that here, we're talking about his personal take on what happened to someone, and why it happened. You seriously think that he should get fined for that? Holy crap, fine Louis Farrakhan who claims that the Gov't blew up the levees, fine Cindy Sheehan for calling terrorists "freedom fighters", fine college professors who claim that the US deserved 9/11... all of them probably have more influence than the aging senile Pat Robertson. And he's just stating his personal belief, and that's not doing any harm to anyone.
What he said is no more outlandish than claiming that you can go to heaven with 72 virgins if you blew yourself up.

First off, Cindy Sheehan is a blubering Idiot and I think that almost everyone agrees with that statement! I think she was the one that tried to say Pres. Bush was the cause of Hurricane Katrina b/c of his Enviromental Policies. Louis Farrakhan who? Did he really say that? b/c I do not remember it. Besides, he is a Islamic Extremsit isn't he? Shit, I thought the dude was dead. Thats how little I have heard out of him.
Besides, thats neither her nor there. The fact remains, Pat runs one of the longest running "Christian" based television programs and he actually does represent a rather large crowd of older Christians. Crap, my granparents used to swear by the dude before they passed. He is dangerous and people fail to see it.
However he has his own t.v. show. The others you brought up do not. And in America when you say things that offend people you get fined. Personally I feel he has done a lot more harm than a boob ever could.
As far as the other leaders go you should start a thread about them.
