Then you were taught evolution in a very correct way, unfortunately in many cases, ESPECIALLY in college classrooms, it is not taught as theory. I can testify that in my college classroom I was taught that macroevolution is a fact when it is indeed not. And that is the problem, many teachers refuse to present the material of evolution as it is, and these seem to be the teachers that are the most believing of the theory which is only logical. However I know that I have also, in my college career, had outwardly spoken Christian teachers express their personal views and also teach evolution in a very correct way without criticizing any components of the theory that is diametrically opposed to their viewpoints. I know that we can't exactly police every teacher, but it seems that many many teachers are presenting evolution as fact rather than theory and that's why this issue has to be addressed.
I personally, as previously stated, am a follower of Christ, and in my high school career I was never taught evolution. My biology teacher made a note that it was just ridiculous and she wouldn't teach it. I really regret this, because I wish that she would have gathered knowledge on the subject herself and taught it correctly so I would not have had to wonder and find out over time myself what evolution was about. However she was also the cheerleading coach and basically still a high school cheerleader at heart, so I give her some slack

. I still wish my classmates, some of whom still claim that evolution can't be true without even knowing what it is, would have been able to learn about it, though.
Also the discovery channel does not seem to be presenting evolution as theory. The discovery channel doesn't really relate to this topic I know, but that just always bothered me, heh.
