People should realize that English is one of the hardest languages to learn to speak, there are way too many exceptions to understand and make sense of. Combine that with the fact that, unless they are going to specialized classes for learning English, they are not going to learn it quickly. To me, as long as they make the effort to learn, thats a good thing.
These "red neck" type morons are too ignorant to be open to others, really, the "learn to speak English" and "Get out of MY country" crap is just plain annoying now, I'd probably smack someone wearing a shirt like that.
not at all. I dont mind when people speak other languages. I mind when ppl speak poor english. saying "my bad" "*****" "fool" "i did good" i hate that more than out and out chinese. also i work for the state doing id verification and i dont know if you guys know this or not but i can tell what nationality you are b4 i see your name and passport based on how you fold papers. anglo saxons will stack all papers on top of each other and make 3 folds. asians will stack it perfectly with deep folds. people from latin america well it looks like they fear paper. every other nationality will photo copy their passport, dl, ssn card, ca id, all on the same paper but mexican will do that then cut them out like crappy fakes. then when they fold the full pieces of paper they fold them like 90 times to the point where theres only 3 pages in there but the envelope has a huge bulge.
However, I will never make fun of someone attempting to speak English (I know a lot of people do, however, which is kind of sad). However, the people making of of these people are usually ignorant fvcks who have never studied another language in their lives.
if english is so hard and you knew that going in to it why didnt you move to a different country? I have a cracked rib, so I cant coach wrestling this year. I weigh 250lbs, so i cant go sky diving. I have poor balance, so i stay off skateboards. Eastern languages sound like awkward noise to me, so i wont move there even if i could double my income. I may throw my nephews around, i may go wind surfing, i might stand on a skateboard and hold on to a fence, and i am going to japan this summer. I am not going to talk to anyone while i am there. I will talk with money and translators. But i would never move there then stand in lines at public state offices and back up the lines for days because i couldnt bring my translator.

its your typical fat, lazy, stupid red neck who drives a mid 80s ford pickup and wears shirts like that to make himself feel better about being "american" because thats all he has left to be proud of....

There's a difference between not knowing English well and not trying. If you did move to Japan, I would hope that you would at least try to learn Japanese so that you could somewhat communicate. Knowing some Japanese is better than knowing none and expecting everyone to speak English to you. It is their country, you speak their language when living (not necessarily vacationing) there. Those should be the rules of engagement.

I will be there for a week. so its not an issue. However I see ppl filling out unemployment forms in spanish then looking at their history and finding out they have applied once a year for 8 years now. In 2 years my gf's bro who is in the navy can get a gf in japan and master the language to the level of a japanese 7th grader.

it should say "learn" instead of "speak" it would be more appropriate for all the mexicans that live in GA. not offended. this is the US. learn the language as a way to show respect for the country.
