Oil!

do you like being raped?!?! do you like being f*cked up the *ss?!?! Exxon reported a 9 BILLION dollar profit for last quarter! (last three months) this is the largest reported quartery profit by any single company...EVER! where were the "shortages?" if there was a "shortage," where did this profit come from? The American people got the sh*t end of the stick for the past three months!
Oil is a natural resource and should be regulated. we cannot go and drill for our own oil because the oil companies own the land where the oil is. imagine what the electric companies would do if their services were not regulated!!! oil and electricity are necessities and should be regulated the same. there is no reason why the oil companies should be allowed to do this to us and the rest of the world.
the world deserves an apology! the world deserves lower gas prices!
sorry for the rant...

Oil is an unrenewable resource. We cannot just "make" more oil. Once it's gone, it's gone. And once it's gone, those who depend on it for everything they have... are gone.

While I don't like it, I don't consider $3 / gallon gas, being "raped". I personally think it would be great if we got some sort of sliding scale, where the more gas a car wastes, the more it costs. Thus, we would encourage better profits for the oil companies, and stick it to the highest users of gas... the idiot in her SUV speeding down the freeway, commuting 70 miles a day when she doesn't EVER have anyone else riding with her. People that use more gas than they need to.

The industry really does need some regulation in it. Unfortunately, that regulation would have to come from the government... which is solidly in the pockets of the Oil companies..........

(good for me cause i work for honda but bad for the people who work for those companies and their families!)

WHY SHOULD FORD LAST FOREVER IF ROME, ENGLAND AND THE USSR HAVE ALL FALLEN

that is my family! i have family members who work for ford and my grandma lives off my dead grandpas ford pension right now. The people who work for these companies who went to school and have diversified skills will be ok. trust me intel, hp, honada of america will hire experienced engineers and designers. my cousin who said well hey i dont need college i will work for ford will eat s*&% for the next few years. We all make decisions in life. if you cant look down the road and see where you will be in 10 years or if you are 2 feet to the left in 10 years its time to change your plans.

no, because the more you talk, the more you sound like an idiot.
if you truly believe in personal responsibility, you would agree that the oil companies should cut 20% of their PROFIT for the good of the people instead of leading us into another recession!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! if they continue to price gauge, anyone not tied to the oil companies will have NOTHING!

I'm sorry if someone doesn't have an IQ above 50... but I am very much better suited to survive than a T-Rex. I think that is a moronic statement. T-Rex never dominated the globe like mankind does. He has neither the brain nor the opposable thumbs like we have....

England, Rome... yeah, many empires have fallen. But they didn't rise as dramatically as the US did, either. They never EVER dominated the world like we did. And because the world has become so incredibly dependant upon oil,
the irresponsible behavior of the oil companies equates to something like selling human lives for profit... because there will come a time when the world is virtually out of oil, and everything that oil allows us to have... food, power, medicine... will be gone too. It's not just "back to the 1800's" because even back then, people were adapted, and could live off the land without any sort of oil consumption. People can't do that nowdays.

Enough of that.

if you won someone had to lose.
recessions happen. they must happen. the economy swings both ways. sometimes the swings are big sometimes they are small. but recessions happen no matter what. and oil isnt what is going to do it. millions of stupid individuals who refinance overpriced homes to buy overpriced s.u.v's and go on vacations just to come home to find out gas is now 2.5-3usd a gallon and they have nothing in the bank and cant afford to drive their chevy tahoe and cant sale it for more than a 12k loss. its not the oil companies. its idiots. most people dont even have 3 months salary on hand b4 they buy cars now. its just retarded. the oil companies do exactly what they should do in a capitalistic society.

OK - here's what I think you may be missing

you get a dividend check from the profits of the oil company, and what do you do with that check? more than likely spend it on something you want, and there is nothing wrong with that.

The point being, you are putting that money back into the economy -

Now if the oil companies cut their 9 billion dollar profits (per one quarter I may add that's like 3 months) by 20% that would pump 1.8 billion dollars back into the American people's wallets, which in turn would go back into our economy, keeping busineses open and our people employed our families fed - and with our people bringing home paychecks guess what happens, THEY SPEND MORE MONEY - its a viscious cycle, i know

Does this make sense to anyone?

Sure, businesses deserve to make money, but I think we have the right to hold onto our hard earned money and spend it as we see fit, don't we?

Would it be so horrible to make a measily 7.2 billion dollars in profit in a quarter?

I'm thinking it may not kill them

how do you know they will?

and why should they get do as they please with SO MUCH money that WE earned and were then basically forced to hand over to them because really what are our realistic choices?

Walk to Manhattan from NJ to work everyday or take a 60% paycut and sell your car so you dont have drive?

dont we as Americans have the right to do with our paychecks as we wish, as measly as most of them are?

Most of us live hand to mouth, if we live beyond our means it is our choice -

Let us earn our money and hang on to it an put it back into the economy as we see fit.

Why should we be forced to say - here's 9 BILLION dollars dude (36 billion by the end of the year if the quarters continue as such) have a great time with it! :wavey:

Thats just insane

PS - thanks for the sig quote - me likey

they earned the money also, if you don't like it buy a bike or use the public transit system

Here is an even better idea: open a $20 billion business-watch it grow a deficit for the next ten or twenty years-then come back to me bitching about their profit

Ok.. first things first.. if you bring attention to the idiots.. they just continue being idiots..

We all knew that the Exxon Mobile's and Chevron's of the world where sticking it to us w/o Ky-Jelly and we took it, its a bitch but there is nothing me or you can do about it and there is nothing the Goverment can do about it either, there is too much money in Oil and to think that it is not finding its way to Washington is dumb in itself.

Third: From what I hear, Europe has been paying like $8gal (or even more) for for some time. Count yourself lucky you live in the Untied States, where we do drill some of our OWN Oil and MANUFACTURE some of our own Oil.

Suggestions: By a case of Ky and let your woman practice sticking her foot up your bung-hole, b/c its not getting any better.
