^ i am sure the gov't will be involved soon, if not already and we dont know it, well for one the national guard is so thats one part, but they will be very soon, the storm only came 2 days ago, and they have to look at all the damage caused and go from there. Highest priority to lowest priority.
The government is already involved. The National Guard, the Army, the Navy, FEMA, and countless other government offices that tend to work in the background. Just because they don't show up with a big sign does not mean they are there. The president is doing his job, delegating to othe offices and departments to find out a way to resolve the problems from the storm.

She is sick. She isn't in her right mind, she lost her son, she needs time to cope. She is going off on tangents that do not make any sense.
Extreme left wing supporters think she is the best thing since sliced bread, because she can illogically bash everything Bush and the republicans do and the media still listens to her. She is on the verge of losing support on both sides because of her lunacy.
Her off the wall comments and blaming Bush for Katrina are so out of line and so illogical and so anti-American it's sick. Does she realize what our troops are protecting? Her right to blab her mouth in a country that will let her protest however she wants without being shot and dragged to the ocean.
She needs to close her mouth and go help the relief efforts if she is worried about there not being enough help for the victims of Katrina. Why doesn't she take a break from her irrational statements and protesting and rally her supporters to donate money or time toward the relief effort?

Yeah have her go protest in Iran, see how she likes it. I think lots of people forget what this country was founded on, and what its all about. If she thinks protesting is the right way to honor her son she's a moron. There are other military families who lost young kids who realise the service they've made to our country. Thank god they're speaking out against Sheehan and her crazies.
First of all, does anyone have a working, credible link to where she says this? I mean, if it's from The Onion or The Enquirer then you guys are jus spouting bullshit. Just because Injin says she said it doesn't make it true.
BTW, how many times have preachers, reverends, et al blamed huricanes on the wickedness of our citizens? I remember Pat Robertson saying that God sent the 9/11 hijackers because we were thinking of legalizing Gay Marriage.

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan (search), who was camped outside President Bush's Texas ranch for the past few weeks, says Hurricane Katrina (search) is all President Bush's fault, insisting that the president is "[now] heading to Louisiana to see the devastation that his environmental policies and his killing policies have caused."
And here is what I posted on another site:
Quote:
If anyone watched the news lately she made a statement about the hurricane blaming it on Bush??? I know the president of the U.S. is the strongest man in the world or something like that but able to control the weather, wow!

I cannon stand this woman, if you couldn't tell from the posts I made in the other thread about her. She's just another schmuck. The American media is absolutely rediculous to continue to put this woman in their new broadcasts. Shut the hell up and go home bitch.
Did anybody else see where that Shehan lady was blaming Hurricane Katrina on President Bush?
Injen
shouldnt this be in the politics forum.
btw, i didnt see that article, but im guessing she wasnt actually blaming the hurricane itself on bush. im pretty sure she meant his choices in making sure that the damage/losses could have been prevented or at least reduced significantly.
this is just an opinion piece, so i cant speak for complete accuracy of the facts...
and i saw an interview w/ the "shehan lady" as you refer to her, and shes quite an intelligent and well spoken woman. she wouldnt make a stupid claim lik bush caused the hurricane"...
so, someone gonna move this to the politics section?

I'm with Dan on this one. I also saw an interview she gave and I was surprised at how intelligent and well-spoken she was.
From what I read in that article, she blames the environmental policies for creating the conditions favorable to huricane development. I don't think that's far off, except I don't think Bush has had too much influence on it. His father, and Reagan, yes, but not baby Bush. I don't think he's impacted the environment enough (yet!).
BTW, I just watched the Fox vid on it and they are just spinning it to make her look dumb. Many other people have blamed it on Bush, including the German government and some Democratic Congressmen. The reason is his terrible environmental policies that contribute to global warming.
Also, she has a point in saying that if the other half of the National Guard from those three states were here instead of in Iraq the recovery would be much quicker.
