to silverdevil and big20. I started to get mad when i first started to read the replies. Anyways, im talking here from my experience, not all immigrants that come here get their papers handed to like someone said earlier. You gotta file, wait a couple of YEARS, then get a work permit, then a social security, a green card, an alien card and thennnnnnnnnnnnnnn many many years later you get a chance to become a citizen, so someone in this guy's family did come to this country illegal. I know that the illegal mexicans that work in my building they pay taxes, NO ONE here will hire completlyl illegal immigrants. You gotta have papers, even if they are fake papers you still gotta have them, so these people that work in my building, they have green cards, social security numbers, and a whole bunch of stuff and they still pay taxes, i see their pay stubs, they are all illegal but still pay taxes. I agree with silverdevil about the laws (his 1st post in this thread). Yes sometimes it could be hectic, but for example, if these illegal immigrants wouldnt work for this 1 company, no one will want to do the job for $7.50 no one, they had the job advertise in the newspaper for weeks and everyone that came said it was not enough money for labor work, if it wasnt for the illegals, that company wouldnt go anywhere. So if anyone has a problems with hispanics and think that they should be deported back, hey im here if you wanna talk, if you feel like screaming at me cuz im hispanic too, go ahead, theres so much hate in this country, is unbelivable

if they have green card and work permits, thery arent illegals. Illegals are the ones who dont have green cards, work permits and are the ones who are getting paid under the table. And yes people will hire illegals. It happens everyday here in houston. Most jobs do it because they know they can pay them alot cheaper and get away with it as long as no one finds out. And what can they do, whine and complain because they arent getting paid enough? No because they are illegal.
Now I understand not everyone here are citizens, and most have to wait years for that to happen, but when you come here to the US, there are steps you can do to get a green card and a work permit which classifies you as a legal resident. Noone does that here.
Now we didnt say send mexicans or hispanics back to mexico. We send send all the ILLEGALS back.

No one has anything against hispanics. It's not a racial thing, it's a simple issue of borders, national security, economics. As a matter of fact, this is PRO-Hispanic because they would be the ones that benefit the MOST from a crackdown on illegal immigration.
I further admit that yes, the whole system needs to be revamped. Having legal people that could come across and work as cheap labor, for set wages and for a limited time would help but the US and Mexico. It's not so much the cheap labor aspect of it, though... it's when they some across the border and underbid jobs that americans WANT that it starts getting messy.
Heck, we should have some sort of seasonal "Blue Card" or something that gives someone the right to come across and work, be employed, pay taxes... and gives us a chance to see who is coming into our country, for what and for how long.

That's a very good idea, actually. It's this cheap labor that keeps our produce prices low, saves us tax dollars in farmer subsidies, and provide plenty of people to do the picking in a short amount of time. That's just how they help in the farming industry. They help in almost every other industry they are hired in.
BTW, another thing I meant to say earlier concerned the "they don't pay taxes" issue. Ppl complain that illegals don't pay taxes but when you look at the difference between what they would pay and what rich people should pay but don't, it becomes obvious that we should be worried about closing tax loopholes rather than having illegals pay taxes on their measly earnings.

i was just talking about the people at the company that i know. They have green cards, work permits, social security but they are fake, they bought them, it has someone else's name on it so in reality they have papers until someone catches it. So are still illegal, and here (harrisburg where i live) they wont hire illegals. Im just speaking from my experience.
The thing i do hate though, is ill become friends with one of them and they'll tell me their name is karina, and then months later i come to find out thats their fake papers name and their real name is something else, i hate that, i hate the feeling of being lied to. ok sorry /end rant

lol.......there are illegal immigrants that come to America everyday from other countries.....not just mexico.
You say there is alot of hate in this country.....you should rephrase that statement. It should say......there is so much hate in this world.

All we need to do is start cracking down and make the punishment more harsh to set example. I would have no problem with military picking off a few of them as they cross the border. Screw them...if they wanna come to America for a chance at a decent living, then do it the legal way.
Preach on brother....walls and sniper rifles, I say. This is the one issue that I've ever agreed with Pat Buchanan on - electrified fences. When the cries of "Ay dios mio" ring out across the border followed by "that ****in hurt, Jose" we might make some progress.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's the conservatives who call the Congressional hearings to ban such things as rap music, certain lyrics in songs, video games, etc. It's not the liberals calling these hearings, it's the conservative (mostly the Christian right, not to take a stab at anyone) people who do so in the name of morality. That is also a different subject.
But Diana brings up a very good point. I have known illegals who "borrow" green cards from their buddies to sign up for a job. That is why many tax dollars that should be refunded each year go unclaimed in the IRS.

sorry to be an ass earlier, but a huge pet peeve is when people are accused or implied to be racist. that said, i am always friendly to anyone i meet, and mexicans (meaning either legal, but originally from mexico, or illegal) are just as friendly if not friendlier than anyone else, and i dont consider them bad or anything of that nature. i fully understand that they are seeking a better life with more opportunities and just want to be happy and live healthy; however, theres a process to working legally and becoming a citizen that is there for a reason, and whether it is understood or not, it should be respected. as i said, there is no way to "close" the border or to prevent people from coming here illegaly, other than to shut off employment opportunities for those not abiding the law of the land. some laws are silly but there are complex reasons for not having open borders and just letting all who want settle here.

Why not? Conservatives and especially the "Christian Right" are the only ones you ever attack anyways. Sure, they have their problems and issues, but that is best heard from by someone like me, who knows their faults and still worships the same God they worship, rather than someone like you, who would lump us all together and try to legally remove our God from us, and us from our God....
As much as I dislike Christianity in politics, I really despise Athiesm in politics. Christians don't attack athiests, whereas athiests have an all-consuming hatred for Christians and use any method they can to attack Christians.
I see the wrongs of political Christians from inside Christianity, and I try to change it. You would rather see the wrongs from outside Christianity, and would like to eliminate all Christians.....
